About
Gunzun nexwanaghinyah, It is good to have you come !
Sech’iziqi is committed to nurturing Tsilhqot’in arts and culture. Our ancestral language, arts, stories and song are all central to the wellness of our people and root us deeply in our territory. Guided by our elders and the knowledge they share with us, we support and engage within our six communities of Yuneŝit'in, Xeni, Tl'etinqox, ʔEsdilagh , Tl'esqox and Tŝi Deldel in activities to strengthen our skills on the land and our arts – threads that come forward to us from our ancestors.
Our activities are broad-ranging ensuring we are focused in wellness through all aspects of our activities from basket weaving, to obsidian tool making, to filmmaking. We engage media and technology as tools and outlets for our work. Our experience has shown the spaces that media and technology can open up for language acquisition, sharing stories, learning ancestral skills, and having our collective voice heard.
